Abstract
The article presents the results of an information analysis of trends in the development of scientific libraries of higher education institutions in the European Union, Great Britain, Indonesia, India, the USA and Ukraine. The state of reflection of the development of scientific libraries in the context of the short-term and long-term perspective is considered. A content analysis of the principles of digital transformation and technological renewal of scientific libraries against the background of actualisation of tasks in the difficult conditions of martial law is carried out. The main trends in the development of research libraries of higher education institutions through the design and active implementation of the following areas of strategic development are described: the introduction of digital technologies, rethinking the role of library professionals, changes in the levels of access to scientific information, adaptation to new forms of academic cooperation. An informational review of publications was conducted, the thematic spectrum of which reflects the level of representation of theoretical and applied research in 2022-2025 based on the method of frequency analysis of keywords and titles of publications, significantly localised the boundaries of the sample and grouping of documents relevant to the topic of our study according to the following criteria: type and type of source, content (topic) of the article. The list of grouped publications based on the results of research by scientists from the European Union, the USA, Pakistan, Indonesia, the UK and Ukraine identifies key areas for the long-term development of scientific (academic) libraries, differentiated by technological, organisational and structural components of activity: automation and digital transformation of libraries, the future of libraries in the digital age, makerspaces, open access publications and repositories, transition to green libraries, social responsibility. On the basis of the collected research material and using the semantic spectrum of names, the main directions of development of scientific libraries are characterised.
