Abstract

The purpose of the work is to identify the most pressing problems in the professional training of psychologists in higher education institutions, as well as to formulate a vision and ways of its improvement in accordance with the needs of social practice and the challenges of the 21st century. Among the most pressing problems are the following: the contradiction between the financial interests of higher education institutions and general ethical principles in psychology; the level of methodological competence of teachers, graduate students and students; the lag in the methodology of teaching psychological disciplines, etc. To improve the quality of training of future psychologists, it is proposed to: ensure unified training of bachelors with mandatory formation of the ability to provide psychological first aid; distinguish between the content of master's training for scientists/teachers and practicing psychologists; coordinate scientific research of teachers and scientists; restore the potential of domestic psychology with simultaneous integration into the global professional space.
