Abstract

Introduction. The research is devoted to the study of the main predictors of individual and social adaptability to stressful circumstances provoked by the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in 2022. The purpose of the article is to analyze the specifics of modern theories of individual and social adaptability to the stressors of war. The research methodology involved the use of general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, abstraction and comparison. The theoretical materials of the study were publications indexed in the leading scientific databases Scopus and Web of Science. Main results. The article examines modern approaches to the theoretical basis for analyzing adaptability to stressors and resilience of the population. The most popular theoretical approaches adapted in the modern scientific and practical field are characterized. Predictors of the aspects of collective resilience are identified, the main factors of individual and collective resilience are highlighted. The typology of collective resilience is characterized in terms of individual, community and societal resilience. The main factors of vulnerability are identified, which are differentiated by the level of impact of threats, traumas, and dangers during the war in Ukraine. The basic concepts of the foreign theory of Psychological Adaptation Theory by Yoesoep Edhie Rachmad are substantiated in the context of Ukrainian realities. The extended analytics of the strategy of socio-psychological forecasting is implemented. It has been established that the level of individual and collective adaptation of Ukrainians to the stressors of martial law is determined by their resistance to difficulties and ability to regenerate quickly. Conclusions. The study summarizes the current scientific theories in the field of adaptability and resilience of the population of Ukraine in the individual and social context during martial law. The necessity of improving psychological tools to offset the destructive impact of war stressors is substantiated.
