Abstract
Proactivity is considered a key personal trait that determines a person’s readiness and ability to exhibit constructive behavior in conditions of threatening changes and crisis situations, particularly in the context of war and ecological disasters. A theoretical analysis of the concept of proactivity is conducted, including its dispositional nature and multifaceted aspects, specifically traits such as self-reflection, metamotivation, forecasting ability, internal locus of control, spontaneity, and other behavioral components. It is emphasized that proactivity differs from mere activity or planning, being a complex, multi-component characteristic that involves advance preparation for solving problems that have not yet arisen. The role of proactivity in shaping constructive behavior in threatening circumstances is analyzed, with particular attention to the importance of motivation for this trait, which is always internal but requires deeper investigation. The issue of possible pathological or ineffective manifestations of proactivity is also raised. The results of the theoretical study highlight the need for further development of theoretical models of proactivity, operationalization, and empirical research on its role in enhancing a person’s readiness to counter threats.
