Abstract

The article presents the theoretical and methodological analysis of local and foreign researchers’ works as to the essence of psychological practice phenomenon, its role, specificity and place in the system of psychological knowledge is defined. It is founded that psychological practice can be a basic concept in applied psychology. Psychological practice can be accomplished directly through the means of communication, or indirectly through substantive or symbolic activity. The aim of any psychological practice is a change of the state or content of the object’s of psychological practice consciousness, features or personality traits, changes in behavior. Its relation to scientific, non-scientific and applied psychology is defined. Psychological practice can be carried out according to the named theoretical principles. In this case, different types of psychological practice will differ not only in theoretical approaches, but also in methodological support. In other words different types of psychological practices are characterized by different methodological support. It is proved that psychological practice is a key concept for building a system to provide individuals with psychological help and it may be individual, group or mass. These types of psychological practice are provided with specific methods for its implementation in accordance with the theoretical paradigm, that is laid in its foundation.
