Abstract

The presentation of the scientific and pedagogical heritage of Ya. Reznik (1892-1952) shows a holistic analysis of the scientist in the context of the cultural and educational movement in Ukraine in the first half of the 20th century. The main stages of life and creative way, leading factors of forming of the scientist's pedagogical outlook were determined, the main trends of activity were described, the pedagogue's publications were analyzed. His contribution to the Ukrainian didactics was ascertained, psychological principles of the educational process were discovered, the special features of Ya.Reznik's approach to the problems of education were ascertained. New documents expanding the notion about the Jewish population in Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century, the life and scientific and pedagogical activity of Ya.Reznik as scientist, pedagogue, methodologist were introduced into the scientific circulation. Main results of the research may be used in the teaching of history of pedagogics, in the process of preparation of textbooks, workbooks.
