Abstract
The article considers project-research activities as an effective means of forming the environmental competence of high school students. A set of methods is identified that ensure the effective integration of project-research activities into the educational process in order to form the environmental competence of high school students, namely: interdisciplinary projects, local research, environmental actions and campaigns, the use of digital technologies. It is emphasized that the combination of these methods ensures the deep involvement of students in real environmental problems and contributes to the formation of their active life position. The features of the system of forming environmental competence in high school students by means of project-research activities are determined: integrity and systematicity, problem-oriented learning, individualization, interactivity and cooperation, practical significance, modern technologies, continuity. Forms of implementation of project and research activities in the formation of environmental competence of high school students in the educational process are presented, in particular through integration into the subjects of the natural cycle, extracurricular activities and participation in competitions. Examples of environmental projects that can be implemented within the framework of project and research activities of high school students are considered: “Monitoring the state of air in the school neighborhood”, “Water from the tap: drink or filter?”, “Green map of our city”, “Ecological footprint of a student”, “The impact of household chemicals on health and the environment”, “Save your reservoir”, “Red Book of our region”, “School waste sorting: from idea to implementation”, “How does plastic get into food?”, “Our forest belts: condition, threats, restoration”. It is summarized that the proposed topics of environmental projects cover a wide range of topical issues, which allows high school students to develop diverse skills - analytical thinking, environmental ethics, civic engagement, and research skills.
