Abstract
Korolenko Volodymyr Galaktionovich is a writer of Ukrainian-Polish origin, journalist, publicist, literary editor, and public figure. In 1886, his first book, Essays and Stories, was published, which received an enthusiastic response from A. Chekhov. The next work, the story The Blind Musician (1886), became a real triumph. And in 1888, his article, A Few Thoughts on Nationalism, was published, in which he recognizes nationality as a primary fact that accompanies everyone from birth and leaves its mark, “naturally, inevitably, and directly.” In 1898, another work, War, Homeland, and Humanity (Letters on the Issues of Our Time), was published, which revealed the writer’s views on the problem of Ukrainian cultural nationalism.
