Abstract
The purpose of the article was to theoretically substantiate and empirically study the psychological features of the readiness of graduates of vocational (vocational and technical) education institutions for professional activity. Theoretical analysis shows that the professional readiness of graduates for future professional or practical activity implies not only the presence of the necessary professionally important qualities, relevant knowledge, skills and abilities, but also the formed ability to effectively apply them in practice in conditions of real professional activity. This includes both understanding of specialized aspects of work and the ability to adapt to various situations and challenges that may arise in the course of performing one's duties. The study was conducted on the basis of the Interregional Higher Professional School of Printing and Information Technologies (Dnipro), where the total sample of the studied education seekers was 50 people. To test the hypotheses of the study, empirical methods were used, in particular: the author's questionnaire "Analysis of the cognitive component of professional self-determination"; the methodology for studying professional identity by L. B. Schneider; questionnaire of motives of professional choice by Ya. S. Suntsov; methodology of professional readiness by A. P. Chernyavskaya. Analysis of the data obtained showed that professional readiness plays a key role in shaping the future professional activity of education seekers. In the course of the work, the influence of this critically important factor on the choice of career path was determined. In particular, it is noticeable that respondents who are already in the field of professional activity approach their preparation more consciously and carefully. Most respondents have no experience of interaction in the context of professional readiness. In addition, the variety of types of professional identity among graduates demonstrates the multifaceted nature of the process of professional self-determination and its complexity. A significant part of respondents choose a profession under the influence of external factors, such as family influence and traditions. This may lead to cases of premature professional choice, which later becomes a cause of dissatisfaction with the career path. In addition to the family, the process of professional self-determination is significantly influenced by the experience gained in extracurricular activities, social contacts, and acquaintances with specialists, although these factors are not decisive. Analysis of the level of autonomy of P(VET)O applicants showed that the majority strive for independence, want to realize their abilities and show sufficient initiative, which corresponds to the average level of this indicator. However, this group of graduates showed insufficient awareness of the chosen professions and their features, which limits their ability to make informed decisions in situations of uncertainty. The majority of respondents also face difficulties in formulating clear and achievable goals, as well as in determining effective ways to implement them.
