Abstract

The theses highlight the problematic aspects of the process of constructing and using competency-based tasks in literature course lessons. It is emphasized that the active use of practice-oriented tasks is an important factor in the modernization of the learning process on a competency-based basis. Practice-oriented tasks contribute to the development of critical thinking, creativity of students, develop the ability to determine the goal of educational activity, effectively interact in a team, perform tasks at each stage of achieving the main goal, carry out self-analysis, self-assessment, determine one's own resources to achieve a significant result, and present the result of the activity. It is concluded that practice-oriented tasks in literature lessons should be based on previous work with the text and be relevant to the child's life experience, have personal weight for him or her and social significance. Effective updating of practice-oriented tasks involves their careful development and systematic use, which in turn requires targeted meaningful work by the teacher, conceptual changes in the content of literature course textbooks in order to strengthen the practical aspect of the tasks and emphasize their personally oriented component.
