Abstract
The article explores the issue of educational losses resulting from global crises, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war in Ukraine. The study analyzes the research literature on the definitions of "educational losses" and "learning gaps," highlighting the distinctions between them. The primary causes of knowledge gaps are identified, and their negative impact on the educational process and society's future is demonstrated, including effects on academic performance, learning motivation, the psychological well-being of students and teachers, and long-term social and economic consequences. Using the case of Bila Tserkva Applied College of Service and Design, a systematic approach to overcoming educational losses is outlined. This approach includes knowledge diagnostics, curriculum adaptation, the use of digital technologies, socio-emotional support for students, and the involvement of teachers in developing individualized strategies. Measures that contribute to effectively addressing educational losses are identified, such as additional lessons and consultations, the integration of adaptive teaching methods, the use of personalized digital platforms, and innovative pedagogical approaches. Special attention is given to psychological support for students to reduce stress levels and enhance their motivation to learn. The importance of creating a safe educational environment that fosters students' holistic development, even in the face of significant social and economic challenges, is emphasized. Future research perspectives include improving tools for assessing educational losses, integrating modern pedagogical technologies, and strengthening collaboration with parents and other stakeholders in the educational process.
