Abstract

The article raises the issue of the content of teaching as a means of implementing the goals of education in life, takes into account the demand of society and provides answers to the questions: what to teach, what knowledge, skills, abilities and subject competencies should be obtained by the subjects of the educational process. Since this process is a historical category, the understanding of which changes under the influence of the development of the economy, production, science, culture, as well as the development of didactics and teaching methods through teaching, the interpretation of the content of teaching geography depends on the understanding of geographical science, geographical laws and patterns.
