Abstract

The global trends in the use of immersive technologies, in particular extended reality and artificial intelligence, are analyzed, taking into account their growing role and capabilities, especially in educational activities. It is established that the definition and understanding of immersive technologies and their types have been changing over the past twenty years of their active use, but has not yet led to their mass inclusion in the educational process. The use of artificial intelligence in educational practice is occurring at a faster pace, contributing to the convergence of immersive and AI technologies.
