Abstract

The conference theses, presented at the XIII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues of Theory and Practice of Psychological and Pedagogical Training of Future Specialists" at Khmelnytskyi National University on April 10, 2025, examine the specifics of art therapy in providing psychological support to military personnel during wartime. The main challenges faced by psychologists working with military clients are identified, and the importance of creative activity in overcoming the consequences of stress, traumatic events, and in building psychological resilience is substantiated. The specifics of art therapy approaches for different categories of military personnel – active service members, wounded and released prisoners, and veterans – are described. The selection of optimal materials and techniques is highlighted, taking into account field conditions, the mental state of clients, and the stage of psychological assistance. Special attention is paid to the use of body-oriented exercises, group work, and the role of presenting creative works for the social readaptation of veterans. The necessity of specialized training for art therapists to ensure effective and safe work with military personnel, considering the risks and responsibilities involved in providing psychological assistance during wartime, is emphasized.
