Abstract

The article analyzes a range of societal processes and global trends that have led to growing academic interest in the professional activity of school principals and the evaluation of its effectiveness. The author substantiates the necessity of improving the current model for assessing the performance of principals (heads) of general secondary education institutions in Ukraine. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among school principals and teachers regarding key issues in the conceptual model of evaluating principals’ professional effectiveness. Differences in respondents' opinions and the factors influencing their attitudes toward various evaluation procedures for school leaders were identified.
