Abstract
The article deals with the essence and significance of the educational and scientific-methodological competence of teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature of general secondary education institutions (GSEIs) in the context of their professional development. The main components of competence are identified, including knowledge of modern educational technologies, mastery of teaching methods, research activities, and the ability to integrate information and communication technologies (ICT) into the educational process. The main directions of improving teaching and methodological competence are outlined, in particular through participation in advanced training courses, professional seminars, conferences, as well as the use of innovative teaching methods. The role of interactive technologies, project-based learning, and distance learning platforms in improving teaching effectiveness is determined. The scientific and methodological competence of teachers is analyzed in terms of their research activities, publication activity, development of author's methodological materials, and participation in professional communities. The importance of cooperation between teachers, the creation of professional networks, mentoring and exchange of experience in improving their qualifications is emphasized. The ways of creating a favorable educational environment for the professional development of teachers, including motivation for self-improvement, organization of teamwork and implementation of a system of internal methodological support in educational institutions are considered. It is concluded that an integrated approach to improving the educational and scientific-methodological competence of teachers contributes to improving the quality of the educational process, developing pedagogical skills and forming competitive specialists in the field of education. The importance of developing teachers' ability to think critically, reflect and adapt flexibly to educational changes is emphasized. Practical recommendations for the effective use of educational resources and the development of their own methodological base are proposed, which will help to improve the professional activities of teachers.
