Abstract
The article reveals the phenomenon of socio-political unity of Ukrainian citizens in their resistance to Russian military aggression. It is shown that social unity has become a sign of the maturity of Ukrainian society, its ability to mobilize and self-organize, and the level of social cohesion is evidence of Ukrainians' awareness of the value of the state and its territorial integrity, the value of freedom and the willingness to defend it with arms. The existential threat to our country and the entire civilized world has led to a change in life and value priorities, behavioral patterns of citizens, and the moral and ethical foundations of political behavior. At the same time, the moral and psychological state of society since the beginning of Russia's full-scale military aggression has shown a weakening of social unity under the influence of events and processes, and an increase in negative trends in socio-political development. It is proved that the change in public sentiment was primarily due to the government's miscalculations in organizing public life during the war, not always thoughtful and balanced management decisions and attempts to implement them using bureaucratic methods. The author summarizes the current trends in socio-political development, the state of unity of Ukrainians at the current stage of state-building and resistance to the enemy, and identifies the dominant factors of negative influence, possible challenges to the consolidation of Ukrainian society, and ways to prevent and overcome them. It is argued that in the context of war, the lack of unity of Ukrainian political elites is a destructive factor, and political disagreements and confrontations lead to socio-political fragmentation and negatively affect the stability and development of the state. A threat to social consolidation and unity of Ukrainians to achieve a common goal is the steady negative trend of declining trust in government institutions and a critical assessment of their ability to effectively address wartime challenges. The tendency to weaken public solidarity, interaction between the government and civil society, growing differences in assessments of the situation between the government and the public, and miscalculations in the organization of public life during the war are dangerous. Especially at the end of the third year of the war, the growth of social division and social polarization, the growing tendencies of alienation from the authorities, and the growth of social, economic and regional differences due to unequal access to resources became noticeable. The author outlines negative trends related to the implementation of mobilization activities, intensification of migration processes, changes in the demographic structure of the population and the formation of new social groups, which can create prerequisites for contradictions between them. It is shown that an important aspect of strengthening social consolidation is to intensify efforts to shape public opinion. development of draft legislative initiatives on the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories and citizens who are forced to stay in these territories, as well as the development of draft regulations aimed at the social and psychological rehabilitation of war veterans and persons affected by its consequences, and at overcoming the collective trauma of war.
