Abstract

The curriculum was created by the staff of the Department of teaching Geography and Economics of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine based on a typical curriculum for grades 6-9 (Zapototskyi S.P. and others). The content of the program indicates the number of hours for each section and topic, as well as the indices of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. The program determines the formation of subject competencies and cross-curricular skills in students. The list of types of educational activities characterizes the activity approach and reveals the importance of digital applications for conducting educational geographical research. Cartographic sources of information, in particular digital ones, have been updated. Methodological recommendations are provided for assessing the results of students' learning in general secondary education institutions.
