Abstract

This article substantiates the legal framework for the development of the vocational education and training (VET) system in the United Kingdom. It analyzes the legislative instruments aimed at ensuring the quality of VET, along with the corresponding regulatory norms that establish clear standards for specialist training and define require ements for their competence. The powers and functions of key state institutions, such as Ofsted and the QAA, in monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of educational programs are elucidated. The mechanisms of interaction between government bodies, educational institutions, and representatives of business and employers, designed to align vocational training with current and future labor market needs, are characterized.
