Abstract

The relevance of the topic is due to modern reforms in the system of vocational education, European integration development of the national qualifications system, and changing needs of consumers of educational services. The study of approaches to ensuring the quality of vocational education in Ukraine makes it possible to identify the peculiarities of the development and functioning of this system, to identify ways to improve the quality of vocational education, expand its accessibility and flexibility. The purpose of the study is to characterize the essence of the concept of «quality of vocational education and training», to determine modern approaches to ensuring the quality of VET in Ukraine and the peculiarities of the development and functioning of the internal system of quality assurance in VET institutions, taking into account the current needs of consumers of educational services. Research methods: analysis of legislative acts and regulatory documents – to identify the content, structure and features of the functioning of the system of quality assurance of vocational education; analysis and synthesis – to study the essence of concepts in the context of the study; generalization and systematization – to determine modern approaches to ensuring the quality of vocational education in Ukraine. The main results of the study. The author analyzes the legislative acts and regulatory documents governing the quality of vocational education in Ukraine; characterizes the concept of «quality of vocational education» and the components of the system of its provision; identifies modern approaches to ensuring the quality of vocational education in Ukraine and the peculiarities of the development and functioning of the internal system of quality assurance in vocational education institutions, taking into account the current needs of consumers. Conclusions and prospects for the study. Modern approaches to ensuring the quality of vocational education in Ukraine (transformational, competence, European integration, systemic, regional, partnership-oriented, and prognostic) are characterized by the adaptability of educational services in accordance with the needs of the economy and regional demands for qualified workers, as well as the flexibility of procedures and measures of educational processes for quick access of students, including veterans, demobilized, internally displaced and other persons to the market of decent work and civilian life. Prospects for further research are to study the best practices of the internal system of quality assurance in vocational education and training institutions in the context of decentralization and partnership.
