Abstract

The priorities for the formation of environmental competence of younger schoolchildren in the context of modern challenges are considered. Attention is focused on the importance of primary school for the formation of environmental knowledge, values, and practical skills. The results of the study of the level of formation of environmental competence of students in grades 2–5 are outlined. The activity approach and integration of environmental content are identified as leading methodological guidelines.
