Abstract
The article is applied in nature and it is based on the results of 5 annual confidential online surveys of 171 applicants of the education and professional program «Management of an Education Institution» of the second (master's) level of higher education in the field of knowledge 07 «Management and Administration» of specialty 073 «Management" which began studying in 2020-2024 at the SHEI «University of Education Management» in part-time (distance) form of education. The study made it possible to compile a motivational portrait of a potential entrant to the education program «Management of an education institution» – deputy director/pedagogical employee of the general education institution in the capital region (Kyiv and Kyiv region) with 15 years of pedagogical experience with a high personal and social orientation to obtain a managerial education, the final decision of which on training is influenced by support from the leadership, positive experience and feedback from graduates. On the basis of the identified expectations and the proposed proposals of the applicants we have outlined priority areas for improving the education process of training future education managers in distance learning at the SHEI «University of Education Management». Among them – increasing the digital competence of applicants and teachers in teaching in distance learning; introduction of a flexible schedule of the education process; strengthening the practical component of training applicants in the conditions of distance learning; video recording of classroom sessions and extracurricular activities; integration of mass open online courses (MOOCs) into the process of training future education managers; development of partnership interaction and exchange of practical knowledge between working and non-working applicants; modernizing the content of the program in accordance with the actual problems of managing education institutions. The data obtained contributed to improving the organization of the education process and strengthening the positioning of the training program in accordance with the needs of future education managers.
