Abstract

The interview with the Rector of the Ukrainian Free University (Munich, Germany), Professor Larysa Didkovska, was conducted by Dr. Ganna Romanova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Leading Researcher at the Department of Foreign Vocational Education Systems of the Institute of Vocational Education and Training of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. The interview took place within the framework of the project “Analysis of Pedagogical Studies at the Ukrainian Free University in Germany” under the DAAD programme “Future Ukraine: Research Grants for Ukrainian Master’s Students and Researchers.” The discussion focused on the distinctive features of pedagogical studies at the Ukrainian Free University, highlighting such topics as competence and pseudo-competence, responsibility and power, the interrelation between psychology and pedagogy, trauma-informed approaches, tolerance toward the otherness of others, a democratic relationship with the world, traditions and innovations, love and structure in education, attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence, the potential of learning to be happy, professional activity, volunteer engagement of teachers and students, and the uniqueness of pedagogical studies at UFU.
