Abstract

The monograph was prepared based on the results of the first stage of the research "Assuring and improving the higher education quality in Ukraine in the context of sustainable development under European integration and post-war recovery of the country" by researchers of the Department of Higher Education Quality Assurance, the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. The work presents a justification of the theoretical and methodological foundations and an analysis of leading experience in assuring and improving the higher education quality in the context of sustainable development as a condition for achieving competitive higher education quality and overcoming the qualification gap between higher education and the labor market. The focus of the research is on various aspects of the problem, in particular, on the formation of a policy and strategy for achieving competitive quality in higher education, theoretical and methodological foundations of the higher education structure modernization as a condition for achieving its competitive quality and overcoming the qualification gap, qualitative and quantitative assessment of the competitiveness of universities, institutional modernization of universities as a component of the quality assurance and enhancement system, transformation of mechanisms for ensuring leadership in higher education and its competitive quality, providing effective teaching, learning and assessment in higher education based on a results-based paradigm, and a strategy for developing human potential in higher education as a condition for achieving competitive quality. The introduction of the monograph will contribute to the involvement of education policy makers, researchers, academic staff and PhD students in international experience on the development of higher education quality assurance and enhancement systems in the context of sustainable development and its application in Ukrainian universities under the martial law and post-war recovery of the country. The publication will be useful for education policy makers, researchers, managers, academic staff and students of higher education institutions, as well as other interested parties.
