Abstract

Contextual tasks are presented as a tool for forming key competencies important for a successful life in general secondary education students. The components of contextual tasks and the features of their creation and development principles are highlighted. A generalized author's scheme for working with a contextual task is presented. The advantages of using contextual tasks in the educational process of general secondary education institutions are outlined.
