Abstract
Geography ensures the formation of geographical, political, economic, and ecological culture of students, which are important components of universal human culture. It is geography that has the ability to teach students to see, understand, and evaluate a complex system of relationships between people, territory, and components of nature. The disclosure of the geographical picture of the world occurs on the basis of an explanation of the general geographical model of reality (scientific content) and an individual vision of the world created by each student. This fully corresponds to the task of personally oriented learning. The implementation of personally oriented learning requires the development of such educational content that includes not only scientific knowledge, but also methods of cognition, optimal forms of interaction between participants in the educational process.
