Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical and practical analysis of supervision as an effective tool in the formation of professional skills of teachers of Ukrainian language and literature in general secondary education institutions. The author considers the essence of supervision, its historical development, role in the pedagogical process and specifics of its application in the context of professional activity of teachers of Ukrainian language and literature. The paper defines the main aspects of supervision, considers its types and models, as well as methods of its integration into the system of professional development of teachers. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the positive aspects of supervision for teachers, such as the development of professional competencies, improvement of pedagogical practice, and increased motivation for continuous self-improvement. The importance of supervision in the development of methodological and communication skills, which are critical for teaching Ukrainian language and literature in modern education, is emphasized. It is determined that supervision helps in the development of individual pedagogical skills, contributes to the creation of effective teams, where mutual support and exchange of experience are important aspects of professional growth. The article also contains recommendations on the organization of supervision in general secondary education institutions, in particular for teachers of Ukrainian language and literature. The developed proposals relate to the support of supervision by the administration of educational institutions, the independent use of supervisory elements by teachers through the methods of reflection and mutual learning. The importance of teachers' cooperation within the framework of supervision is emphasized, which allows improving teaching practices and contributes to improving the quality of education in schools. The study concluded that supervision is important as a tool for improving the professional skills of teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature and outlined prospects for further research in this area. The main areas for future research are improving supervision models, taking into account the individual needs of teachers, and studying the impact of digital tools on the process of teacher professional development.
