Abstract

The content of the subject "Literature (Ukrainian and Foreign). Grades 7-9" according to the curriculum (Snegirova, Fidkevych, 2024) is integrated and structured by thematic-genre (grade 7), a combination of historical-chronological and problem-thematic principles (grades 8-9). The program outlines the study of works of Ukrainian and foreign literature not only by common problems, themes, genres, theoretical and literary concepts, but also by historical and cultural features, a variety of means of artistic convention, which allows schoolchildren to more deeply assimilate the universal content, national originality and value of cultures of different times and peoples, and to perceive Ukrainian literature as an integral part of the world.
