Abstract

The article reviews and summarizes the foreign experience of professional training of future nurses. Nursing, as the main branch of medicine, needs special attention in the modern context. The effective development of the health care system largely depends on the professional level and quality of training of junior staff as the most voluminous component of the nation’s health resources. An analysis of the professional training of future nurses in the USA, Canada and Great Britain was carried out. The foreign experience of the discussed issues confirms qualitative changes in system of providing medical care to the population as a result of the introduction of quality training of its junior staff into the practice of medical institutions. In the model of nursing in other countries of the world, the professional training of nurse allows her to systematize her work, choose priority areas in the organization of patient care, plan and perform manipulative actions aimed at recovery, rehabilitation and health promotion. All over the world, nurses have been proven to make significant contribution to the provision of quality care using the latest nursing technologies that are based on a scientific approach and evidence-based practice. Therefore, future domestic nursing specialists need to develop and improve their professional skills in order to provide the most high-quality and effective assistance to the population. With the development of nursing, the role of the nurse is changing, the range of her powers is expanding; its activity involves autonomy in assessing the patient’s state of health and making independent decisions in the performance of professional duties. The detailed study of foreign experience provided an opportunity to identify positive and negative points with aim of borrowing international experience for the Ukrainian medical field.
