Abstract

Specialised secondary education is the third level of complete general secondary education, which, in the context of transformation, involves a change of focus in high school from multidisciplinary education to narrow specialisation. The strategy for the development of specialised secondary education is defined by regulatory documents. In accordance with the regulatory documents, students receive specialised secondary education in lyceums (separate general education institutions of the third level or those that provide complete secondary education); vocational (vocational-technical), professional pre-university, higher education institutions and other educational institutions licensed to conduct educational activities in the field of general secondary education. The definition of the didactic potential of specialised secondary education is focused on ensuring the development of young people's abilities and talents, the formation of vital competences, their harmonious adaptation in society and preparation for independent living. First of all, the organisation of the educational process in a specialised school should be oriented towards building individual educational trajectories through a free choice of types and forms of education, a wide range of educational programmes and disciplines.
