Abstract

The presentation highlights projects and programs aimed at fostering a value-based attitude to food, participation in regulating the management of food residues, and preventing them from going to waste. The experience of institutions, organizations, volunteer communities and concerned citizens who are ready to share their resources to reduce food losses is presented. The educational program for children “Do Good: Save Food!” by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), whose educational materials were translated into Ukrainian and published by the All-Ukrainian Environmental League. The educational kit aims to raise awareness of food loss and food spoilage among students, teachers, other employees and their families/colleagues, and to introduce effective practices that help prevent food loss and reduce food spoilage with an expected long-term impact.
