Abstract
The report outlines the main conceptual foundations for introducing specialized secondary education in the New Ukrainian School, which are the basis for the draft Concept of Specialized Secondary Education in general (academic) education developed by scholars of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. It is noted that the strategic purpose of specialized secondary education is to create a solid foundation for the successful self-realization of the individual in the future life path. This is achieved by focusing the educational process on meeting students' educational needs and demands per their cognitive interests, abilities and future life plans. In educational activities, this requires deep individualization and differentiation of learning, as well as diversification of all components of the educational process - its goals, content, methods and forms of learning, methods of assessing results, etc. To meet the educational needs of students, local governments form a network of secondary education institutions of various types (academic and vocational lyceums, professional colleges, specialized education institutions), which operate mainly separately or in combination with other educational institutions. The author proposes ways of implementing specialized secondary education in the final stage of reforming complete general secondary education in the context of the New Ukrainian School concept, which are in line with global trends in the development of educational systems.
