Abstract
The article highlights the issue of learning losses among primary school students in wartime conditions. It is established that the urgency of the problem is due to the difficulties children face in accessing education and educational materials, as well as significant psychological stress that affects their ability to concentrate and their cognitive motivation. Recent monitoring studies on the challenges faced by children in wartime have been reviewed, and an analysis of publications by domestic and foreign scientists, international, and non-governmental organizations confirms the presence and increasing trend of learning losses and gaps in students' education. The results of a study on learning losses among younger students are presented, which covered a significant array of experimental data and served as the basis for a comparative analysis of the views of teachers and parents of students in grades 1–4. The effectiveness of the learning process is assessed, and effective measures to minimize or compensate for students' learning losses are identified, taking into account the peculiarities of organizing education in wartime conditions. Notably, both parties ‒ teachers and parents ‒ emphasize the need to adapt the learning process and individualize instruction. Teachers highlight the importance of a differentiated approach, the use of modern technologies, interactive methods, as well as collaboration with parents to ensure students' motivation and accountability for their academic achievements. Parents focus on simplifying the curriculum, extending the time allotted for mastering key topics, introducing additional lessons and extracurricular activities, as well as the importance of transitioning to in-person learning and creating a psychologically comfortable environment. The prospects for effective cooperation between teachers and parents in overcoming learning losses of primary school pupils are determined.
