Abstract
Attention is drawn to the need to analyze the process of reforming the education of children with special educational needs. Key shortcomings in the introduction of inclusive education and the reform of special education are identified, including the imperfection of a comprehensive psychological and pedagogical assessment of individual development. Ways of its improvement are proposed.
