Abstract

The monograph presents an analytical projection of the nation-building process in Ukraine. The dialectic of Ukrainian nation-building is considered as a result of the interaction and unity of opposites, personified in the processes of creation and destruction. The fundamental questions are not only "Who and how creates a nation?" or "What and how destroys it?". It is also suggested to reflect on and find answers to the questions “What is the art of creating a modern Ukrainian nation?”, “What is the wisdom of overcoming the demons that hinder its development?”. In this context, a theoretical explication of the formation of the modern Ukrainian nation as a process occurring in the societal crisis conditions is proposed, a socio-psychological interpretation and explanation of the provisions on the nation-creating and conflictological potential of forms of socio-psychological thinking is presented, and the dialectic of consolidation and confrontation in Ukrainian nation-building is revealed. Addressed to representatives of the social and humanitarian sciences - psychologists, sociologists, political scientists, social philosophers, specialists in the field of public administration and governance, as well as all those interested in the problems of nation-building.
