Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of marital conflicts in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. It is noted that war has a deep and multifaceted impact on the individual, society and the nation as a whole, not only destroying physical infrastructure, but also causing serious damage to people’s mental health, violating their sense of security. The article carries out a theoretical analysis of scientific source regarding the causes of marital conflicts. The peculiarities of the "distant family", the influence of daily and chronic stress on marital relations are characterized. The causes of marital conflicts are divided into groups: physiological; socio-economic; personal; socio-psychological. It has been proven that experiencing stress and tension increases the risk of conflicts between spouses. It is substantiated that the feeling of stress, tension, physical and emotional exhaustion, disunity of the family, transformation of family roles, uncertainty of the future, decrease in wealth in the family, negative feelings caused by watching the news, psycho-emotional states (anxiety, depression, irritation, etc.), chemical addictions, fear for the safety of relatives and friends, complicated concern for sick family members, excessive social activity, not being able to relax in favorite places, differences in worldviews, plans for the future, raising children – reasons that can cause conflicts between spouses. It was determined that, despite all the difficulties that arose during the war, despite the fact that the level of conflicts between spouses, caused by the war, has increased, we can observe a trend that the relationship has become better for more than half of the respondents who are in a marital relationship. Effective means of resolving conflicts between spouses were indicated by opponents: increasing the level of communication between partners, the ability to find compromises during disputes, openness in relationships mutual support, building relationships based on mutual trust, unity, and the ability to ask for forgiveness between partners. We see the perspective of further research in the empirical study of the socio-psychological conditions for the settlement of marital conflicts in the conditions of war.
