Abstract
The article examines the theoretical foundations of the psychology of education in higher education. The object and subject of the study are specified. Theoretical methods (analysis, generalization, explanation), SWOT analysis are used. The author reveals the theoretical foundations of the general laws and mechanisms of educational psychology, mental activity of the individual, problems of his/her education and upbringing; emphasizes the role of information and analytical support of educational psychology in higher education and characterizes its functions. It is clarified that information and analytical support of educational psychology in higher education is a process of creating optimal conditions for meeting information needs and implementing educational tasks.
