Abstract

The study of male sexual behavior is conducted within the broader context of research on sexuality and gender differences. It is not identified as a separate field of inquiry but serves as an integrative process across various scientific disciplines and levels of functioning (biological, psychological, socio-cultural), as well as addressing the historical and evolutionary context of human development in society. A distinctive feature of sexual behavior is that it manifests as a dyadic process, involving the combination of an individual's sexual activity and the perception of the potential sexual orientation of another individual. Male sexual behavior encompasses various manifestations, with copulative behavior—considered purely intimate—representing a distinct cyclical process of sexual intercourse. Copulative behavior, as the capacity to engage in sexual acts, is a subject of scientific study in medicine, biology, and psychology, focusing on the maintenance and promotion of sexual health. We have identified the following directions for studying sexual behavior in general and male sexual behavior specifically:1)balancing biological sex and the social reality of human life in its sexual development and sexual behavior; 2)the restrictive influence of cultural and religious norms on the variability of sexual identity expression in society;3)the physical and mental health of individuals concerning their sexuality and sexual behavior; 4) male sexual behavior within the context of pair relationships, regarded as a condition for psychological well-being and the experience of positive emotions. A promising direction for research involves reducing societal pressure on the variability of sexual behavior manifestations, particularly for men.
