Abstract
The purpose of the article: to analyze modern psychological and pedagogical methods of diagnosing auditory perception and speech of children with hearing impairment; to determine the main approaches to diagnosing the hearing and speech development of children with cochlear implants; to present the author's method of diagnosing the hearing and speech development of children with cochlear implants. Research methods: logical and theoretical analysis of literary sources; pedagogical experiment; procedures for quantitative and qualitative processing of experimental data, statistical processing by paired Student's t-test for linked groups. Results. The diagnostic methods used in working with children with cochlear implants are analyzed. The components (purpose, content, methods, procedure) of the psychological and pedagogical examination of a child with hearing impairment are considered. The author's method of diagnosing the hearing and speech development of children with cochlear implants is presented. It was established that the skills of detecting acoustic signals are formed at a sufficient level in most children. However, the level of formation of discrimination skills in many children is significantly lower, recognition skills are formed mainly at an average level, and the reproduction of unfamiliar material turned out to be the most complex and formed at a low and average level in most children, even those who have a significant hearing age. In the vast majority of cases, each subsequent listening and speaking skill is formed worse than the previous one, which proves the hierarchical system of their formation. The identified features formed the basis of the development of the phasing of the corrective and developmental impact and the content of each of the stages of the hearing and speech development of children with hearing aids with cochlear implantation systems. Conclusions. The dynamics of hearing and speech development of children with cochlear implants who participated in the study is generally positive, at the same time, most children do not reach a sufficient level, even with a significant hearing age. The presented technique can be used in working with children with cochlear implants of different physical and auditory ages in order to identify the level and dynamics of hearing and speech development, the «zone» of appropriate effort (steps and components that require special attention in a certain period of corrective and developmental work).
