Abstract
The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally study the relationship between self-esteem, academic success and the level of aspirations of P(PT)O applicants. Among the studied P(PT)O applicants of the Mykolaiv Vocational Industrial Lyceum, girls aged 17 with an average level of academic success prevail. According to the method “Research on the Self-Esteem of a Teenager” (G. Kazantseva), P(PT)O applicants with adequate self-esteem (60%) prevail, significantly fewer people with overestimated (22%) and underestimated self-esteem (18%). Among the studied P(PT)O applicants, people with high and average levels of aspirations and self-esteem prevailed (69% and 66%, respectively), which indicates an adequate general self-esteem of the vast majority of those studied and its some lag behind the level of aspirations. The results of correlation analysis using Pearson's pairwise correlation coefficients revealed a significant level of correlation between self-esteem and the level of aspirations of P(P)O applicants.
