Abstract
The article reveals the relevance of the problem of reforming the content of preschool education for children with special educational needs. An analysis of literary sources, regulatory documents and modern domestic research on the problems of improving the quality of preschool education for children with special educational needs and the prospects for their solution is presented. The latest trends in the field of domestic preschool education for children with special needs at the present stage are outlined, which provide for the introduction of the Concept of Education for Children of Early and Preschool Age, a new edition of the Basic Component of Preschool Education; the priority of early identification of development problems and early comprehensive assistance to children with psychophysical development disorders. The problems of organization, educational and methodological support for the education and upbringing of children with intellectual development disorders, the need to create a system of psychological and pedagogical support for children and their families; the presence of certain psychophysical limitations in children with complex developmental disorders are characterized. The Program for the Development of Early and Preschool Children with Intellectual Disabilities (hereinafter referred to as the Program) is presented, the content of which is consistent with domestic and international standards for the education of early and preschool children, modern achievements in the field of special pedagogy and psychology. The Program defines basic provisions that are fundamentally important for understanding the directions of development and support of early childhood children and humanizing the goals of preschool education of children with intellectual disabilities. The main objectives of the Program are to create favorable conditions for a child to fully experience preschool childhood, form positive personal qualities, develop comprehensive mental and physical qualities in accordance with age and individual characteristics, prepare for life in modern society, create prerequisites for educational activities and independence in everyday life, and ensure the safety of the child's vital activities. Methodological recommendations for teachers and parents of children with intellectual disabilities regarding support and consideration of the educational needs and cognitive abilities of children with intellectual disabilities are highlighted. Prospects for further research on the outlined issues are presented.
