Abstract
The article describes the concept of sustainability, in particular its importance in the manifestation of tolerance to uncertainty. Hardiness is presented as an effective mechanism for overcoming traumatic experiences, which helps maintain mental health in difficult situations and reach a new level of development. And tolerance to uncertainty is a personality characteristic that determines how an individual perceives ambiguous situations, regardless of the emotional color of this uncertainty. In particular, individuals who are tolerant of uncertainty see every situation as an opportunity for growth and gaining new experience. They show flexibility and readiness for changes, the ability to act actively and productively in conditions of uncertainty. It is emphasized that high school students are a special risk group during extreme situations of war, they are the most sensitive group, who are under the influence of biological, psychological and social changes. The war significantly affects the process of forming their identity, disrupts the process of interpersonal communication and social relations, exacerbates stress and anxiety, exacerbates the feeling of uncertainty about one’s own future, which negatively affects mental health, destroys life plans, deprives the ability to satisfy basic need. The article presents the results of the study of the relationship between hardiness and tolerance to uncertainty, as well as the characteristics of the manifestation of tolerance to uncertainty, readiness for change among high school students. In particular, it was found that hardiness has a direct strong statistically significant relationship (the strength of the relationship is 0.737, significance is 0.000) with passion, (the strength of the relationship is 0.879, significance is 0.000) courage, (the strength of the relationship is 0.658, significance 0.000) adaptability, as well as (the strength of the relationship is 0.778, significance 0.008) tolerance to ambiguity. Also, it was determined that girls are more inclined to show tolerance to uncertainty and resilience than boys. In particular, they show a higher level of passion and adaptability, while boys have a higher level of confidence, which helps them overcome feelings of uncertainty. Hardiness contributes to a person’s ability to cope with difficulties and challenges in life, in particular, it is accompanied by the manifestation of passion, which determines internal motivation and determination to overcome obstacles in difficult situations; manifestation of courage, which forms the ability to make important decisions and act despite fear; adaptability, the ability to quickly adapt to changes; and most importantly, tolerance for ambiguity. The ability to accept uncertainty helps to maintain inner calm and make informed decisions, even when the situation is extreme. This goes a long way toward reducing stress and improving emotional well-being. The article emphasizes that the development of hardiness can significantly improve the general psychological state of a person and his ability to cope with difficulties, in particular, the uncertainty of the future and the changing present.
