Abstract

This publication examines various models of construction, content and methods within systems designed to protect the mental health of the population, in particular, the peculiarities of psychological education in developed countries. The research methodology is a review of scientific publications on psychoeducation in schools and higher educational institutions of the USA, Israel, Europe, and Australia aimed at understanding world experience, and determining trends in the modern development of psychoeducation for further use in domestic educational and social practices. It is demonstrated that psychological education in developed countries has gone through a long path of historical development, a path that may not be fully replicable due to the current war situation and the related threats to the mental health of the general population. The article emphasizes the importance of psychological education and measures to improve psychological culture among children, youth, parents and guardians of minors, teachers and social workers is emphasized; family members who care for people with special needs; professional communities that perform socially important, complex and dangerous functions (including police officers, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, military personnel and their families) among others. The article advances the thesis that the most effective psychological education should include training in emotion regulation skills. The publication may be useful for teachers, school psychologists, mental health specialists, and social workers.
