Abstract
The life orientations of applicants for vocational (vocational and technical) education were determined by us using the method of D.O. Leontiev's "Life Orientation Test". The subjects were 53 individuals who were receiving education at the educational center at the Bila Tserkva Correctional Colony (Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region). Almost all of the applicants studied have a low level of life orientations on most scales, the average level is observed only in a small proportion of them on the scales "Locus of Control-Self" and "Life Awareness". The life orientations of applicants do not depend on their educational level, but they significantly depend on age and marital status. They do not depend on any of the studied socio-psychological factors. Age and indicators of life orientations of applicants on all scales are closely related. The main difference between the clusters of applicants is their identity and age. All scales of meaningful life orientations of applicants can be combined into two factors: “Life process and locus of control”, “Goals and life effectiveness”.
