Abstract

Teaching democracy to the younger generation, making them aware of democratic values, human rights and freedoms and the need to protect them, and developing civic competencies of students remain key tasks of modern Ukrainian education. Understanding the principles and functioning of the parliamentary system of Ukraine is a prerequisite for active participation of citizens in making important decisions and the irreversibility of the country's democratic development. The methodological guide for conducting a simulation game on civic parliamentary education “M18: We are Lawmakers!” for teachers-coordinators of student teams is aimed at improving the level of knowledge of pedagogical pedagogical staff of educational institutions on the basics of representative democracy and parliamentarism, the activities of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the development of professional competencies for parliamentary education through interactive teaching methods and the use of digital tools. The manual is written in the form of an organizational and methodological guide for conducting a simulation game for modeling the activities of the Verkhovna Rada Committees and simulating the legislative work of MPs of Ukraine.
