Abstract

The article is devoted to highlighting the results of diagnostics of the levels of readiness of schoolchildren for future family life according to the cognitive criterion. Through the analysis of scientific views, the article clarifies the essence of the concept "Readiness of a young person for future family life" and its components, which is interpreted as a psychological phenomenon that encompasses an integral set of qualities that combines the presence of knowledge, skills and abilities in family pedagogy, the basics of reproductive culture, a positive attitude towards future family life, a conscious awareness of responsibility for the effective performance of marital and parental roles, which ensure in the future the ability of a young person to consciously plan future married life and the birth of children. According to the identified structural components of this concept, an experimental methodology was selected, which included, in particular: the questionnaire of V. Shakhrai "The main life goal of high school students", the methodology "Methods of effective interaction in the family" (author's work), the projective method "My ideal family" (author's work), the adapted "Methodology of diagnosis of social and psychological adaptation" by K. Rogers and R. Diamond, the questionnaire "Ability to empathize" by A. Mehriabian, N. Epshtein, "Methodology of diagnosis of communication attitude" by V. Boiko, the method of observations, etc. The experimental data of the results of the diagnosis of the levels of readiness of student youth for future family life according to the cognitive criterion are presented. All in all, the results of ascertainment are summarized for all indicators of the cognitive criterion (knowledge about the importance of the family in a person's life and its functions; about marital and parental roles, their functions, responsibilities, methods of interaction between a young couple and with a future child; knowledge of the basics of reproductive health) testified that 16.2% of high school students showed a high level of readiness for future family life according to all the above indicators, average – 60.0%, and low – 23.8% of boys and girls. The experimental data of the results of the diagnosis of the levels of readiness of student youth for future family life according to the cognitive criterion are presented. All in all, the results of ascertainment are summarized for all indicators of the cognitive criterion (knowledge about the importance of the family in a person's life and its functions; about marital and parental roles, their functions, responsibilities, methods of interaction between a young couple and with a future child; knowledge of the basics of reproductive health) testified that 16.2% of high school students showed a high level of readiness for future family life according to all the above indicators, average – 60.0%, and low – 23.8% of boys and girls. In the future – identification and substantiation of social pedagogical conditions for the formation of student youth's readiness for future family life with their subsequent approval.
