Abstract
The article reveals the didactic foundations of the development of musical abilities in children with intellectual disabilities through the use of improvised musical play. Based on the review of scientific sources on the issue, it is determined that special attention is paid to the involvement of children in musical activities. The influence of musical education on the development of children with intellectual disabilities, the formation of their musical and aesthetic consciousness and spiritual formation is considered. The main difficulties of introducing improvised musical play into the educational process and strategies for overcoming them in the context of inclusion are indicated.
