Abstract
The theses consider the importance of media literacy as a necessary tool for orientation in the modern information space, which is constantly growing and saturated with both useful and manipulative information. The authors emphasize that media literacy allows you to critically evaluate sources of information, identify fake news and manipulations, and identify information risks that can have both individual and social consequences. Particular attention is paid to the role of media literacy in maintaining emotional stability, developing critical thinking and the ability to analyze content. The challenges faced by the development of media literacy are also analyzed, in particular, the lack of systematic education and technological changes that complicate the assessment of information. An important part is the integration of media education into educational programs, which helps to form skills in analyzing media content from an early age. The theses emphasize that media literacy is a key element in the development of a healthy information environment and a critical approach to information consumption, which allows you to effectively resist information threats and manipulations.
