Abstract

The text of this study examines the importance and role of adult education in the context of the development of the modern Ukrainian information society, which is characterized by high information saturation, rapid changes in the technological, social and economic environment. It is noted that the traditional model of education, which limited learning to a certain stage of life, is gradually being replaced by the concept of lifelong education, which includes the continuous development of the individual at all stages of ontogenesis. The role of the lifelong education system in Ukraine, its development in regulatory documents, as well as the integration of modern information and communication technologies to ensure the accessibility and effectiveness of learning are separately considered. The focus is on the social significance of adult education, which contributes to the development of professional and social competencies, improving the quality of life and adapting to changes in society. Various motivational factors that stimulate adults to learn, and the role of this process in the formation of a competitive and culturally developed civil community are outlined.
