Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyse the integration of European national school systems into the common European educational area in order to identify promising experience for Ukraine in the context of its own integration into the European educational area. The author identifies the key current trends in the integration and harmonisation of educational school systems in the European Union, namely: harmonisation of school structures and curricula; ensuring the quality of school education; introduction of innovative teaching and assessment methods; digital transformation of school education; standardisation of requirements for teachers and their professional development; promotion of academic mobility of students and teachers; ensuring social inclusion and equal access to education; strengthening the managerial and organisational autonomy of schools and organizational autonomy of schools, etc.
